SALT LAKE CITY – Larry H. Miller Sports & Entertainment has partnered with Utah, BYU, Utah State and Weber State to form a new men's college basketball showcase at Vivint Smart Home Arena, beginning in 2017.
The Beehive Classic, with Zions Bank as the title sponsor, will feature single-day, round-robin doubleheaders from 2017-19. On the years Utah does not play BYU in the tournament, the two schools will meet at alternating home sites. Matchups and dates for the Beehive Classic follow:
Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017
BYU vs. Weber State
Utah State vs. Utah
Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018
Utah State vs. Weber State

Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019

Each school will be allotted 4,500 tickets, which will include student pricing for lower-bowl student sections. A ticket provides access to both games. The four schools will share equally in the revenue distribution of the event, with a portion of the proceeds directed to the individual school scholarship funds.
"We are excited to announce the Zions Bank Beehive Classic — a celebration of community and basketball," said Steve Sparks, president of Larry H. Miller Sports & Entertainment. "Our organization is thrilled to bring these four great schools, and their fans, together at Vivint Smart Home Arena for an annual one-day doubleheader."
"I would like to thank the Larry H. Miller group for helping facilitate the Beehive Classic," said Utah director of athletics
Dr. Chris Hill. "I am excited about bringing in four state teams to participate in this neutral site event. This will be a great event for the fans of our state."
"Dr. Hill has come to an agreement, scheduling an event between these four in-state schools and I support his decision," said Utah head coach
Larry Krystkowiak.
