Utes Set For NFL Combine, Feb. 27-March 5

SALT LAKE CITY - Four former Utah football standouts will embark in their most important job interview yet as they attend the 2018 NFL Combine this week. The event will start on Feb. 27 and run through March 5.
Darren Carrington II, Kylie Fitts, Lowell Lotulelei and Salesi Uhatafe have already proven that they can play among the best in the country at the NCAA level, but this week, they will get the chance to show their skills to hundreds of NFL scouts and coaches to make that next step to the pros.
The NFL Combine will air on the NFL Network from March 2-5 with on-field workouts and position drills. Follow along with the action at NFL.com, UtahUtes.com and on social media (Twitter: @UtahAthletics, @UtahFootball, @NFL).

Q: How has your time at Utah prepared you for a future in the NFL?
A: I believe there is no college out there that is better than Utah at preparing you for the NFL. Our coaches and strength coaches are the best in the business at providing us with the knowledge and skill set needed to be successful in the league. The work ethic, skills and knowledge Utah has instilled in me not only just on the field, but off the field will set me up for a successful future no matter what I am doing."
Q: What traits/skills do you think you possess that will make you attractive to NFL Teams?
A: My versatility, intelligence and competitiveness is what will separate me from other prospects. I am able to rush the passer, play the run and also drop back into coverage very well. My knowledge of the game and understanding of everything that is happening around me will benefit me a lot in the NFL. Lastly, my willingness to compete and never be outworked will attract NFL teams."
Why the NFL should draft Lowell Lotulelei...
"It's in his bloodline – little brother of former Utah and 1st round draft pick, Star Lotulelei, Lowell is the ultimate run stopper. He has a great first step with the ability to keep his balance and power underneath him. He demands and dominates double teams. The NFL will get not only a great player, but a great person and leader with Lowell."

Q: Where have you been training this offseason and what do you feel you've improved on?
A: I have been training in Irvine, Calif. at a facility called Sports Science Lab. The move improvement I have felt has been in my flexibility and in my endurance in my muscles.
Q: What traits/skills do you think you possess that will make you attractive to NFL Teams?
A: I think what would make me a well-rounded professional football player is that I am someone who is responsible to keep in shape on my own and I am also a well-rounded person off the field. I am also someone who is all about the team.

"Leka is a versatile player that can play four of the five positions on the offensive line. He is a great leader and works hard off the field to perfect his technique."

A: I feel like I am a coachable guy who can fit into any role on the offensive line in order to make the team better.
