SALT LAKE CITY—The Utah gymnastics program wrapped up its recruiting for next year's team by signing Cammy Hall of Gainesville, Va., to a National Letter of Intent. Hall is the fourth signee of the 2018-19 recruiting class, joining November commits Cristal Isa, Adrienne Randall and Hunter Dula.
Â
"We are really excited about Cammy's decision to become a Ute," said Utah co-head coach Tom Farden. "She was flying a bit under the radar when she caught our attention and has recently made great strides, especially on the leg events where she competes a vault that starts from a 10.0 and opens floor exercise with a sky-high double Arabian."
Â
Hall, who competes a Yurchenko one and a half vault, took first place on the event at the 2018 Fiesta Bowl National Qualifier while finishing second on beam, second in the all-around and third on floor. At the 2018 Excalibur Cup, she placed second in the all-around and third on vault and bars.
Â
Hall posted three top-three finishes at the 2018 Virginia State Championships, placing second in the all-around, second on vault and third on floor. She was the state runner-up on vault and floor in 2017.
Â
She currently trains at Capital Gymnastics Training Center in Burke, Va., under coaches Tatiana Perkskaia, Marina Gerom and Jose Teran. Perkskaia was also the club coach of former Ute All-American and NCAA champion Ashley Postell.
Â
The daughter of Darren and Sophia Hall is a senior at Patriot High School in Nokesville, Va., where she is a member of the National Art Honor Society and the National Junior Honor Society. A Regional Science Fair qualifier, Hall won a science symposium award. She qualified for the All-County Arts Festival and is a member of the Student Ambassador Program. She will be the second member of her family to play college sports. Her father Darren played basketball at the U.S. Air Force Academy.
Â
The three Ute recruits coming in with Hall next year include Junior Olympic champions Isa, of Henderson, Nev., and Randall, of Corona, Calif., along with top-10 J.O. all-around national finisher Dula of Orem, Utah.
