DaShawn Keirsey, Jr. earned baseball All-Pac-12 honors for the third-straight season, announced today by the conference. Keirsey was also named to the all-defensive team for the third time while sophomore
Oliver Dunn was an honorable mention selection.
Keirsey ended the regular season ranked third in the Pac-12 with a .386 batting average. He led the league and tied for 10
th in the NCAA with 23 doubles while ranking sixth in the NCAA in doubles per game (0.46). Keirsey ranked tied for third in the Pac-12 with 78 hits and was second in hits per game (1.56). He was also tied for fourth in triples (5), seventh in slugging percentage (.609) and eighth with a .440 on-base percentage. In addition to leading Utah in the above categories, he also led the team with 47 runs scored and tied for the team lead with four home runs. Keirsey was 7-of-12 in stolen bases and drove in 22 runs.
Keirsey, who will likely be selected in the upcoming MLB Draft, has a .334 career batting average at Utah and played in 154 career games with 148 starts. He was Utah's first-ever selection to the Pac-12 all-defensive team back in 2016 and was a Freshman All-American that year.
Dunn, the only Utah player to start all 55 games this season at second base, tied for seventh in the Pac-12 regular season with four triples. He ranked tied for fifth in the league with 145 assists and tied for seventh with 30 double plays. Dunn led Utah with 33 walks and nine stolen bases (9-of-11) and tied for the team lead with four home runs. He ranked second on the team with a .319 batting average, 66 hits, 31 RBI, 39 runs scored and a .426 on-base percentage and was tied for second with four triples.
It is Dunn's first league honor. He has played in 106 games (104 starts) and has a .285 career batting average.
