SALT LAKE CITY -- The University of Utah golf team will play in the Grand Canyon/Thunderbird Invitational hosted by Grand Canyon University on April 12-13 in Phoenix, Arizona. Jon Morgan, Brock Padilla, Shawn Edwards, Gregg Oilphant, and Jason Shepherd are the five Utes that will compete at the Palm Valley Golf Club on Monday and Tuesday.
Utah placed second at this tournament last year shooting a three round team total of 888, just three shots off the lead. Jon Morgan, who won the tournament in 1996, placed second last year shooting 224 and finishing one under par, just one shot off the lead.
Utah's next tournament is the Franklin Cougar Classic April 23-24 hosted by Brigham Young University.
