Salt Lake City - Former University of Utah women's basketball star Alli Bills is returning to the U. as an assistant coach, Head Coach Elaine Elliott has announced. Bills, an assistant coach at Brigham Young last year, will be involved in on-court coaching for the Utes and will also perform numerous administrative duties.
She was a part of the most successful four years of women's basketball during that time, helping Utah to a 90-27 record, a 50-8 conference record, three Western Athletic Conference championships and four trips to the NCAA from 1994-98. Utah advanced to the NCAA Second Round her junior year. Bills, Utah's all-time career assist recordholder, led the NCAA in assists as a junior and was a first-team all-WAC pick as a senior.
She played professional basketball in Europe after her senior year.
"It is great to have a notable alumnae back in our program. She has a ton of energy and enthusiasm and understands the commitment necessary to exceed at this level. She will be an excellent addition to this staff," said Head Coach Elaine Elliott.
