Salt Lake City - Utah was one of three Mountain West Conference schools that appeared in the USA Today/AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches' Association) Preseason Poll, announced on Mon., Aug. 14. Colorado State and Brigham Young ranked 13th and 15th, while Utah, with 59 points, checked in at No. 30.
The Utes posted a 22-10 record and ranked 29th in the final 1999 USA Today/AVCA poll. Utah opens the 2000 volleyball season Sept. 1-2 at the New Hampshire Tournament, where they will face Eastern Michigan, UMASS and New Hampshire.
The Mountain West Conference season opens Sept. 22 with Utah hosting San Diego State and UNLV visiting BYU.
