Utah and UCLA Headline 7th Annual Wooden Classic

ANAHEIM, Calif. - The John R. Wooden Classic announced today that UCLA and the University of Southern California will make their first appearance together in the John R. Wooden Classic. This year's Wooden Classic will feature three top twenty teams in UCLA, USC, and Utah. Georgia Tech from the highly competitive ACC rounds out this prestigious field.
The 7th annual Wooden Classic will be held at the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim Saturday, December 2nd. Game one begins at 12:00 noon when the UCLA Bruins will meet the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets immediately followed by the USC Trojans vs. the Utah Utes.
The Wooden Classic continues its tradition of hosting the nation's finest teams and coaches. "As usual, the Classic will present some very exciting competition. It's nice to see the local teams in UCLA and USC participating together. Georgia Tech will be making their first appearance while Utah returns with a top ranked program, led by the very entertaining Rick Majerus. It should be another fine day of basketball at the Pond," said John Wooden, the event's namesake.
Established in 1994, the John R. Wooden Classic is an annual tribute to the legendary former UCLA coach and the excellence he personifies. The event traditionally hosts college basketball's elite programs. The Wooden Classic is a celebration on the game of basketball and the activities benefit Special Olympics Southern California (SOSC). In addition to the doubleheader, this year's events will include the Wooden Classic Golf Tournament, November 30th at Pelican Hill Golf Club and the Wooden Classic Benefit Dinner, December 1st at the Hilton Anaheim Hotel and Towers.
Ticket prices for the basketball doubleheader are $10, $15, $25, $37.50, $50, $65, $75, $150, and $300.
