SALT LAKE CITY -
University of Utah gymnastics coach Greg Marsden received signed letters of intent from two gymnasts on early signing date. Kristen Riffanacht, an Elite gymnast from Cheshire, Ct., and Natalie Nicoloff, a Level 10 national qualifier from Hermitage, Pa., have committed to compete at Utah, starting in 2002-03.
Riffanacht has competed at a number of national events and placed third all-around at the 1998 Junior Olympic Championships. Nicoloff was a 2001 Level 10 national qualifier who was the Pennsylvania state champion on the balance beam in 2001 and the floor exercise in 1999.
"Kristen and Natalie are the type of recruit we look for," said Marsden. "They are talented athletes and excellent students with good leadership qualities. They will make an immediate contribution to next year's team, yet have the potential to improve throughout their collegiate careers."
