BRIGHTON, Colo.- Utah finished in sixth place at the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate on Tuesday. The Utes completed play with a final round of 301 and a total score of 25-over-par (889). Utah jumped one spot on the final day after being seventh through two rounds.
Leading the way for the Utes was Casey Fowles, with a final round of 74; he finished in a tie for 12th at two-over (218) for the tournament. Luke Swilor's third round of 76 gave him a total score of five-over (221) leaving him in a tie for 22nd. Carl Jensen finished tied for 31st with his three round score of seven-over (223). Garrett Clegg and Steve Newren each finished with a 13-over (229) for the Utes, leaving them in a tie for 52nd.
Host school Denver won the tournament with a team score of nine-under (855), North Carolina-Wilmington finished second with a two-over (866), and UTEP was third with a four-over (868). Utah's next tournament will be Oct. 11-12 at the Fresno Lexus Golf Classic.
