Provo, Utah- The final round of the Cougar Classic was canceled due to snow showers. The results from the first two rounds will stand as the final results.
The Utes men's golf team finished tied for 10th place at Cougar Classic. The Utes shot a two-round score of 598 (22-over par), along with UC-Santa Barbara and Boise State. Brigham Young, Colorado State and Nevada tied for first with a seven-under 569.
For the Utes, Luke Swilor finished tied for 16th after shooting a 73 (one-over par) in the first round and a 71 (one-under par) in the second round to finish the day at par (144). Freshmen Ashdon Woods tied for 24th by taking only 73 strokes in both rounds to finish with a two-over 146.
Bruce Summerhays Jr. finished tied for 50th. Summerhays shot a 76 (four-over par) in both rounds to finish the day eight-over (152). Nick Micek and Paul Winterowd both finished in 71st place. Micek and Winterowd took 76 strokes in the first round and shot an 80 (eight-over) in the second round to end the day twelve-over par (156).
Utah will compete in the Mountain West Golf Championships in Sunriver, Ore., April 29-May 1.
