The Mountain West Conference announced the 2002 Academic All-Conference Track and Field athletes. Among the 215 student-athletes named 20 Ute men and women athletes earned the honor. All athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 GPA or better and be a starter or contribute significantly throughout the season.
"I'm really proud of what our athletes achieved academically this season," said head coach Lisa Collet. During this past spring semester, the women's team averaged an impressive 3.21 combined GPA and the men averaged a 2.81 combined GPA.
