Utah Cross Country Finishes Competition at ISU Invitational

Pocatello, Idaho- The University of Utah cross country teams finished competition at the Idaho State Invitational on Sat., August 31 at the ISU Cross Country Course. The Utes started the 2002 season with strong performances from both teams. The men finished third (74 points) in a 6K race, while the women finished fourth (112 points) running a 3k race.

Sophomore Brent Moore led the men's team placing ninth (19:02) followed by junior Colby Frazier with a 12th-place (19:15) finish. Senior Lion Gallegos finished 15th (19:27) and junior Nephi Tyler placed 16th (19:33).

Sophomore Charity Vernon led the women's team with a 14th-place (11:12) finish. Senior Julie Osguthorpe was next with a 24th-place (11:34) finish, followed by junior Tara Hall at 26th (11:38) and senior Jen Osguthorpe at 30th (11:54).

Next, the cross country teams will travel to Provo, Utah, to compete in the Fall Classic on Sept. 14.
