TEMPE, Ariz. - The University of Utah women's cross country team finished the Arizona State University Meet on Fri., Oct. 10. In addition to Utah and Arizonan State, the meet featured athletes from Arizona, Long Beach State and Hawaii. Utah finished behind Arizona State and the University of Arizona for third place.
The Utes had a successful race with three runners finishing within the top 25 runners in the race. Elise Greenwood led the team with a ninth place finish. She was followed by Nellie Hammons at 12th, Jennifer Brusch at 15th, Jennie Haertel at 27th and Andrea Davidson at 31st.
"The team competed well but they were a little too conservative during the first mile of the race," states Head Coach Brian Appell. "They were unable to make up the distance by the end of the race."
