STONY BROOK, N.Y. (AP) - Richard Chaney scored 15 of his 21 points in the second half - including a go-ahead 3-point basket - and undefeated Utah rallied for a 51-48 victory Sunday over Stony Brook.
Nick Jacobson added 11 points for the Utes (3-0), who meet Texas Tech on Wednesday in New York in the semifinals of the Preseason NIT.
D.J. Munirs had 12 points to lead the Seawolves (1-1). His pair of free throws gave them a 44-39 advantage with 5:28 to play.
Utah then nailed four 3-pointers, two by Chaney, in a 12-2 rally. His first narrowed the margin to 46-45 with 2:23 remaining.
Chaney then hit the go-ahead 3 with 1:16 to play to give Utah the lead for good. Jacobson followed with the fourth straight 3 to make it 51-46 with 7.5 seconds remaining.
