SALT LAKE CITY -
I hope everyone had a HAPPY THANKSGIVING! I trust you all enjoyed your turkey days as much as we did. It was a very anxious start of the week for the Utes, being that everyone was getting so excited for their four-day break.
After morning workout on Wednesday, we all went our separate ways. We were a little unsure of everyone's travel plans, because of the heavy snow conditions, but fortunately everything worked out and we all were able to depart safely. Those of us who drove were a little nervous, but we all managed to keep our cars fueled and no one had a blond moment like Riff did the night before. Out of gas??? HA, HA!!!
California was the place to be. Trainer Tom, Megan, Greg, Riff, and I all spent our Thanksgiving breaks in sunny California. YUK - no, not all together. We were all in different parts of California. I don't know about the others, but no one could have had a better time than Riff and I did! We spent our break at our (softball player) roommate's home and had a blast. We even got to go to Disneyland! How fun is that?
Queenie finally got to go home and had a lot of fun. She said her time home was too-o-o-o short, so I bet she's now counting down the days until Christmas. AB, Juice, and Stephanie all got to go home too. Juice was a little bit sick, unfortunately, but ended up having a couple of good days. Steph made the transition from the blizzard conditions to the warm sun of Texas. I bet that was nice. AB worked on round-offs with her old coach. DOUBLE YUK -- gymnastics on your break. Mel spent time with her boyfriend's family in Magna, while Rachel, Dom, Veronique and Kim Allan decided to cook up a Thanksgiving feast of their own. I even hear they did a good job and the food was actually edible. YOU GO GIRLS! Gabi also stayed here to hit the books. TRIPLE YUK - studying on your break. But the person who was the most vocal about her getaway was Gritt. She drove to Vegas and saw Celine Dion in concert. She has been dreaming about this for months. Isn't that right Gritty?
Well that's it for this week. The Utes are excited to get back into the gym to have a good solid week of practice before finals. Yes...that's right I said, finals! I can't believe that they are already here. I guess time flies when you're having fun! Don't forget to look for Gabi's entry next Tuesday. Until then... GO UTES!
