PALO ALTO, Calif. - The University of Utah track and field team finished competition at the Cardinal Invitational on Friday, May 2. Hosted by Stanford, the meet featured athletes from Utah, Weber State, Air Force and Kentucky, amongst other schools. The Utes had a great meet, setting four personal records and one school record.
Leading the way for Utah were Nellie Hammons, Torin Koos, Colby Frazier and Andrea Davidson. Hammons finished 13th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:07.91. Her performance was a new personal record and a school record for the sophomore. Koos set a personal record in the 800 meters by finishing 16th with a time of 1:51.60. Frazier set a personal record in the 1,500 meters with a time 1:51.60, which was good enough for 26th place. Davidson got Utah's fourth personal record finishing 21st in the 800 meters with a time of 2:14.14.
"Our athletes are prepping well for the upcoming conference meet," states Head Cross Country Coach Brian Appell. "We are looking forward to some great marks at the Mountain West Conference Championships."
