POCATELLO, Idaho - The University of Utah cross country teams finished the Idaho State University Invitational on Friday, Aug. 30. The meet featured athletes from Utah ISU, Weber State, Utah State, Utah Valley State College, and Westminster. Utah's women's team finished third with 70 points while the men finished fourth with 104 points.

On the women's side Elise Greenwood led the team with an impressive sixth-place finish in the 3K run. Kristin Taylor and Jennifer Brusch tied for 12th followed by Nellie Hammons at 19th and season Meservey at 20th, to round off the top five.

Jeff Davidson led the men's team with an 11th place-finish in the 6K, followed by Nick McKay at 13th, JP Rooney at 25th, Matt Hansen at 26th and Tim Goldhart at 28th.

"It was a good season opener for our young teams," states Head Coach Brian Appell. "Our athletes learned some things that will help us be successful this season."

Next up for the Utes will be the BYU Fall Classic on Friday, Sept. 19, in Provo, Utah.
