Scottsdale, Ariz. - The Utah men's golf team completed competition at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic on Tuesday. Utah finished with a team score of 10-over-par, 850 (281-283-286). The Utes final round of 286 dropped them from fourth after two rounds to a sixth-place finish. Leading the way for the team was Luke Swilor at even-par. Swilor finished with a three round score of 210 (70-69-71), placing him 13th individually.
Garrett Clegg shot a final round 71, completing the tournament at three-over, 213 (69-73-71). Clegg finished in 21st-place. Casey Fowles was only one-stoke behind Clegg, as he finished at four-over, 214 (67-75-72), placing 24th. Carl Jensen added a final round 72 to finish seven-over for the tournament. Jensen finished with rounds of 75-70-72 to finish 38th. Ashdon Woods rounded out the scoring for the Utes, finishing at 15-over, 225 (75-71-79).
UCLA won the tournament and was the only team to finish under par. The Bruins completed the Cowboy Classic at 11-under, 829. The individual winner was Travis Bertoni from Cal-Poly. Bertoni finished at six-under-par and was one of 12 golfers to finish under par.
Utah will complete its regular season at the Cougar Classic on April 23-24. The Mountain West Conference Tournament begins on April 29.
