BEND, Ore. - The University of Utah men's golf team completed day two at the 2004 Mountain West Conference Championships on Friday. Utah shot a team score of 297, nine-over for the second round. The Utes now sit in sixth-place with a total score of 14-over-par, 590 (293-297), after being in fourth after day one.
For the Utes, Carl Jensen is in 13th place after the second round. Jensen's second round score of 73 leaves him at four-over-par, 148 (75-73). Luke Swilor is in 18th place at five-over-par, 149 (74-75). Ashdon Woods sits in 21st place at seven-over-par, 151 (74-77) and Garrett Clegg used an even-par second round to also sit at seven-over-par, 151 (79-72). Casey Fowles was disqualified in his second round after turning in the wrong scorecard. He will be eligible to compete in the third round on Saturday.
BYU leads the tournament at two-over-par, 578, after shooting a second round two-under-par, 286. Martin Laird of Colorado State is in the lead at seven-under, 137 (64-73).
The final round of competition will begin at 9:30 a.m. (PT) on Saturday.
