Fayetteville, Ark.- The Utah cross country women wrapped up their regular season today at the Chili Pepper Invitational. Chelsea DiGrazia led the team with a 75th-place finish. The team placed 21st out of 38.
All six of the Ute women ran a personal best time in the 6k here, and head coach Kyle Kepler states it "was really exciting to see." Chelsea DiGrazia's time was 22:37. Following behind her was Ashlee Warnick, finishing 105th with a time of 23:07. Nicki Hugie finished 116th with a time 23:13. Closing out the rest of the team are Kristin Taylor (148th, 23:44), Kellie Anderson (163rd, 24:01), and Janett Ern (177th, 24:12).
"I thought we ran a really nice team race," says coach Kepler. "We got out early and did a good job of establishing ourselves, and ran tough in the middle. We still need to finish a little bit better, but we've got a couple weeks before the conference meet so we will put that together and make it happen there."
Utah has two weeks off before the MWC Championships held on Saturday, Oct. 29, in Fort Collins, Colo.
