HONOLULU, Hawaii - The University of Utah men's golf team dropped two places to 16th place, after finishing the second round with a score of 290, three strokes better than the first round, to total a seven over par 583.
For the Utes, freshman Dustin Pimm and senior Ashdon Woods lead the way with a two round score of 142 (-2), placing them tied for 31st after the second round. Pimm shot a 71 (-1) in both rounds so far, while Woods shot a 70 (-2) in the first round and a 72 (par) in the second round.
Steve Newren improved on his first-round score of 75, shooting a 72 in the second round to sit tied for 74th at 147 (+3). Nick Micek shot a 75 in the second round to improve on his first-round score of 77, and currently is tied for 100th place at eight over par (152). Freshman Chris Gresh rounds out the Utah team, finishing the day at 13 over par (157) to enter the final round in 113th place.
The final round tees off tomorrow at the Leilhua Golf Course.
