THIS WEEK:
The University of Utah men's golf team travels to Goodyear, Ariz., to compete in the 2005 Pioneer Classic March 15-16. The tournament will be held at the 72-par Palm Valley Golf Club, with 36 holes on Tuesday, and 18 holes on Wednesday. The University of Denver and Iowa State University are hosting the event.
BRAVEHEART CLASSIC RECAP:
The University of Utah men's golf team finished the final round of the Braveheart Classic with a score of 287 (-1) to finish in fifth place with a three-round score of 876 (+12). UC Riverside won the event with a three-round score of 850 (-14).
For the Utes, senior Ashdon Woods shot a two-under par 70 in the final round to finish with an overall score of 216 (E). Woods finished 14th overall. Freshman Chris Gresh finished the final round of the tournament with a three-over 75. Gresh tied for 21st at three-over par (219).
Dustin Pimm finished one stroke back from Gresh, placing 24th overall with a three-round score of 220 (+4) after shooting a two-under par 70 in the final round. Nick Micek finished the final round at even par (72), finishing tied for 29th place overall with a three round score of 221 (+5). Senior Jake Sowby finished at five-over par (77) in the final round to finished tied for 84th.
