Utah at UVSC, Home for UNLV This Week
The University of Utah baseball team travels to Utah Valley State Tuesday evening, before getting back into Mountain West Conference action this weekend.
The Utes will square off with UVSC on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Parkway Crossing Stadium. Utah then hosts a three-game MWC series with UNLV, beginning Friday at Franklin Covey Field. UVSC is currently 10-24. UNLV enters this weekend's series 15-21 and 9-3 in the MWC.
Utah Balls & Strikes
? Tuesday's game will mark the eighth all-time meeting between Utah and UVSC.
? Utah leads the series 4-3 after last week's 5-3 win over the Wolverines at Ute Field.
? Friday will mark the 93rd meeting between Utah and UNLV on the diamond.
? UNLV leads the all-time series over the Utes by a tally of 63-29.
? UNLV took the season series from Utah last season, winning five of the six games.
? The Utes' last victory over UNLV was an 11-7 win on May 15, 2004 in Las Vegas.

Scouting UVSC
Utah Valley State College is 10-24 and is coming off a doubleheader split with Northern Colorado Saturday. The Wolverines lost game one at UNC, 4-1. UVSC came back to take the nightcap, 14-1.
UVSC is paced by Kory Drew, who is batting .384 with six home runs. The Wolverines will send Jed Jensen to the mound Tuesday. Utah beat Jensen last week. He has a 3-7 record and a 7.40 ERA.
Scouting UNLV
UNLV is currently 15-21 and 9-3 in Mountain West Conference action. The Rebels had lost three straight, before salvaging the final game of a three-game set with BYU Saturday, 10-6.
The Rebels are led by Zeke Parraz at the plate. He is batting .311 with a team-high 31 RBIs. UNLV's top pitcher is Kyle Tabeek, who comes out of the bullpen with a 2-1 record and a 2.08 ERA.
Record-Setting Saturday
Utah's 32-4 thrashing of Air Force in Saturday's doubleheader nightcap included three school and conference records.
Utah's 32 runs set both Utah and Mountain West Conference marks. The Utes' 28-run margin of victory was also a record for both the school and the league. Utah rapped out 34 hits in the game, which was also an MWC and University of Utah record.
Numbers from the Ninth
Utah sent 18 runners to the plate in the ninth inning of Saturday's record-setting second game. The Utes scored 13 runs on 14 hits in the inning.
Four Utah batters had two hits in the inning. Tyler Kmetko, Mike Tummolo, Joe Mozeleski and Seth Tartler all had multiple-hit innings.
Jake Waldram hit the first grand slam for Utah since Eric Chevalier on 4/16/04.
