SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah had 69 of its student-athletes honored by the Mountain West Conference today, recognizing them with the Scholar-Athlete Award. In all, 419 student-athletes garnered the recognition conference-wide.
To be eligible, student-athletes must have completed at least two semesters or three quarters at the certifying institution while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have competed in at least one varsity contest in their respective sport.
New Mexico placed a conference-high 86 scholar-athletes on the list, followed by BYU (71), Utah (69), Wyoming (51), UNLV (46), San Diego State (37), Colorado State (30) and Air Force (28).
