SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Utah women's swimming and diving team knocked off San Diego State 133-105 on Saturday. The Utes move to 4-0 (2-0 in MWC competition) with the win. Utah was led by Shannon McQueen who won the 200 free (1:54.21), 500 free (5:01.50) and the 400-medley relay (3:57.00).
Along with McQueen winning three events, Utah got key performances from Amber Walter, winning the 100 free with a time of 52.29. Walter was also on the winning 400-medley relay team. Alison McInturff also added a big victory in the 50 free, coming in with a time of 24.22. Utah won 10 of the 13 events on the way to the victory. "The girls swam great today," comments assistant coach Ron Lockwood. "This meet is great preparation for the Ohio State Invitational and sets us up for what we are looking to accomplish in the conference."
The next meet for the Utes will be December 1-3, when they travel to the Ohio State Invitational.
