INJURIES STRIKE UTES
Sophomore Katie Kivisto dislocated her elbow in pre-meet warm-ups on March 10 and will miss the remainder of the season. Kivisto, a native of Boca Raton, Fla., was Utah's lead-off bar worker. Sunday in practice, senior Gabriella Onodi sprained her ankle and is questionable to compete on Friday. Onodi was scheduled to replace Kivisto in the bar lineup and was also probable to compete on the beam. The Utes have now lost three gymnasts for the season to injury: Junior All-America all-arounder Rachel Tidd announced her retirement in December due to back problems, senior Natalie Nicoloff suffered a season-ending elbow injury on Feb. 23 and Kivisto met the same fate on Mar. 10. Utah will be down to eight scholarship athletes if Onodi can't compete.
