Former Ute Woods Qualifies for Nationwide Tour Event

SALT LAKE CITY - Former University of Utah golfer and current Ute volunteer assistant coach Ashdon Woods will be taking part in the Utah Energy Solutions Championship this week in Sandy.
Woods was one of 14 players who will advance to the Nationwide Tour event after taking part in a qualifying tournament Tuesday at Wingpointe Golf Course. Woods shot a six-under 66 during the qualifying round.
Woods played for Utah from 2001-2005. He was a student assistant coach last year.
The Utah Energy Solutions Championship runs Thursday through Sunday at Willow Creek Country Club.
