This Week The University of Utah Cross Country team will finish up their preparations for the Mountain West Conference Championships to be held on Saturday Oct. 27, in San Diego, Calif.
Last Week The Utes finished ninth with 317 points at the 19th annual Chili Pepper Invitational last Saturday. Led by Freshman Lauren Lewis, who finished 28th with a time of 21:52.3.
Other top-five performers for the Utes were, Alyssa Abbott (81st, 22:19.2), Kellie Anderson (144, 22:34.2), Rebecca Mackelprang (228. 22:57.8), and Chelsea DiGrazia (317, 23:02.6). Also racing for the Utes were Janett Ern (420, 23:19.3) and Lauren Endersen (534, 23:26.9)
Kepler's Quotes "I feel good about last weeks meet at Arkansas, and we need to carry that momentum into the conference championships," says head coach Kyle Kepler.
"We have been running at a championship level and our goal for the MWC Championships is to finish in the top-five. This week is also the time to mentally prepare for and maintain our physical aspect as well."
Kepler ends with, "We are making small improvements everyday and that's what it takes to build a great program."
Next Week The Utes will compete in the Mountain West Conference Championships on Saturday Oct. 27, in San Diego, Calif. The competition is slated to begin at 10:45 a.m. PT.
