RENO, Nev. -- Dustin Pimm and Nick Carter helped the University of Utah remain in contention Monday at the Wolf Pack Classic. Pimm started by carding a 69 in the first round and finishing with a 72. Carter carded a 71 in the first round, finishing with a 70 in the second. Pimm and Carter are tied for fifth place at three-under-par. Iowa State's Joe Cermak leads the tournament at five-under-par.
The Utes are tied with Kansas State for third place overall. Arizona leads the tournament at 11-under-par, and Iowa State is second at seven-under-par.
"If we want a chance at winning tomorrow we need to put up five great numbers," said Coach Randall McCracken.
Play concludes with a single round Tuesday.
