THIS WEEK The University of Utah Cross Country team will take one last week off to prepare for the NCAA Regional meet, held next weekend Saturday, Nov. 10 in Ogden, Ut.
LAST TIME OUT The Utes finished fifth in the MWC Championships with a total of 130 points. Leading the way was Alyssa Abbott who placed 20th in a time of 22:37. Also scoring behind Abbott were teammates Lauren Endersen (24th with a time of 22:50), Chelsea DiGrazia (25th, 22:50), Lauren Lewis (26th, 22:52) and Kellie Anderson (35th, 23:47). Alexis Davis came in at 40th in 24:02.
UTE NOTES Utah will go into the meet next weekend ranked 13th in the mountain region.
KEPLER'S QUOTES "This week off is about rest," says head coach Kyle Kepler. "We will work out enough to stay sharp and to mentally prepare for the regional meet. The athletes know they have they're work cut out for them and they are ready to accept the challenge."
Kepler finishes with, "We are putting our total focus into this meet, and will use this week to get back to 100 percent so we can perform at the top of our game."
