SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah women's gymnastics team will have four of its meets televised during the 2008 season.
Utah's television partner, KTVX-ABC 4, will produce and air the meets tape-delayed the following Sunday. The broadcast schedule includes Georgia on Jan. 13 (11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.), Minnesota on Feb. 3 (11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.), Oregon State on Mar. 9 (11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.), and BYU on Mar. 30 (2-3:30 p.m.).
The broadcasts will re-air on KTVX's sister station, The Hive. The meets will also be rebroadcast regionally on The Mtn. and nationally on CSTV.
Wesley Ruff will handle play-by-play with former Ute All-American Missy Marlowe serving as the analyst. KTVX is in its first year as the flagship station for the Utah Sports Television Network.
"We're excited about KTVX's partnership with Utah athletics," said Utah athletics director Dr. Chris Hill. "Along with the mtn. and CSTV, this will provide great local, regional and national exposure for our gymnastics program."
"Wesley Ruff and KTVX have always been great supporters of Utah athletics and our gymnastics program," said Utah gymnastics head coach Greg Marsden. "Having them produce our events will further enhance the local exposure of our program. This is the third year CSTV has broadcast our meets nationally, and it has been a great partnership. Their coverage gives us great exposure with Utah gymnastics supporters and fans of gymnastics across the country."
