The squad will split up this Fri.-Sat., Feb. 9-10, to participate in the Husky Invitational (Seattle, Wash.), the Iowa State Classic (Ames, Iowa), and the Mountain State Games (Pocatello, Idaho).
LAST WEEK
The Utes continued to tune-up for the Mountain West Conference championships as it continued to show improvement and progress at the Friday Night Duals in Pocatello, Idaho, last weekend. The team saw three first-place finishes with Lauren Endersen (3000m, 10:23.68), Jennifer Cutrer (60m hurdles, 8.75), and Amanda Feigt (long jump, 18-9) bagging event titles.
UTE NOTES
Lauren Endersen achieved her first-ever collegiate win with a remarkable effort in the 3000 meter run with a time of 10:23.68 ... Jen Cutrer's time in the 60m hurdles was a PR and now ranks second in Utah's all-time top 10. She nearly shaved a quarter second off of her previous best time.
KEPLER'S QUOTES
"We have a huge weekend coming up, were splitting the team up so that it can go to many different meets which will provide the athletes with the best possible facilities in their respective events," head coach Kyle Kepler remarked. "Were not to the point where we need to peak, but we still need to see significant impact and improvements all-around.
Kepler ends with, "These meets are a chance to compete against better competition and conference teams, and to see what areas need improvement."
NEXT WEEK
The Utes will travel in-state for its final tune-up before the Mountain West Conference Championships. The Wildcat Tune-Up will be hosted by the Weber State University in Ogden, Utah.
