GOODYEAR, Ariz. - The University of Utah golf team saved its best for last at the Ron Moore Invitational. In Tuesday's final round, the Utes put together their best round of the tournament and improved to a fifth-place finish.
Utah shot a 282 Tuesday to follow up rounds of 284 and 287 in Monday's first two rounds. The Utes finished with a total of 853 strokes to take fifth place. Wichita State won the tournament with a three-round total of 831. Nebraska, Kansas State an Denver, the host team, also finished in front of Utah in the 17-team event.
Utah was led on Tuesday by Steve Broker, who shot a 68 in the final round. Broker finished fourth overall with a three-round total of 206. Dustin Pimm finished tied for 38th with a total score of 218. Nic Larson also shot 218 for the Utes. Chance Cota and Chris Gresh carded three-round totals of 219 to finish tied for 47th.
Utah is back in action again at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic on April 9-10 in Scottsdale, Ariz.
