THIS WEEK:
The University of Utah golf team will kick off its fall campaign Sept. 8-9 at the 39th annual Falcon Invitational, hosted by the Air Force Academy. The 54-hole tournament will be held at the Eisenhower Golf Club (Blue Course). The lineup this week will feature: Dustin Pimm, Nicholas Larson, Chris Gresh, Nick Carter and Chance Cota. Steven Broker will compete as an individual.

THE FIELD:
Eighteen teams will compete at this year's invitational, including: Air Force, Air Force JV, California, Colorado State, Iowa State, New Mexico, Northern Colorado, Northern Iowa, Sacramento State, Southern Utah, UCCS, Utah, Utah State, UTEP, Weber State, Wichita State, Wyoming and Xavier. Last season, Xavier captured the team title, setting a tournament record at 19-under-par, nine strokes ahead of Colorado State. Jason Kokrak of Xavier was the individual medalist, also setting a tournament record at 12-under-par, three strokes ahead of second place Jason Becher.

UTE NOTES:
Utah's roster features five seniors, a junior and two sophomores ... Several members of the Utah golf team, as well as head golf coach Randall McCracken competed as individuals at the Utah Open at Oakridge Country Club. Team members included: Jeff Kitches, Chance Cota, Steven Broker, Dustin Pimm, Chris Gresh, Nick Carter and Nicholas Larson ... Chris Gresh finished tied for 20th at six-under-par ... Dustin Pimm finished at four-under-par, tied for 32nd ... Coach McCracken finished tied for 45th at one-under.
