Utah 60, UC Irvine 52 Postgame Notes
-Utah posted its best defensive effort since game 5 vs. Missouri State, holding UC Irvine to 35.7% from the field (20-of-56).
-Junior guard Luka Drca was clutch from the free throw line going 4-of-4, all of which came with less than two minutes to play and Utah's clinging to a six-point lead. Drca returned to the starting lineup for the first time since Idaho State (Dec. 6)
-Sophomore guard Carlon Brown was one rebound from a double-double, scoring 13 points and grabbing nine boards. He has now scored double figures for the third straight game and the fifth time in the last six games.
-Senior center Luke Nevill has recorded a double-double in half of Utah's games this year. With 11 points and 10 rebounds against UC Irvine, he registered his sixth double-double of the season and the 24th of his career.
-Nevill's four blocks also tied a career-high, set earlier this year against Idaho State, Dec. 6.
-Nevill has scored double figures in all 12 games this season. He has now scored 10 or more points 86 times in 103 career games.
-Senior guard Lawrence Borha (18 pts) posted his best offensive effort since scoring a season-high 19 against Ole Miss on November 21. He has been stellar two years in a row against the Anteaters, setting his career-high of 24 against them last year in Salt Lake City.
-Junior forward Kim Tillie reached a new career high for steals with three, eclipsing his previous career-best of two set on three different occasions.
-Utah improves to 9-0 all-time vs. UC Irvine, including a 3-0 record on the Anteaters' home floor.
