LEHI, Utah - The second-annual Deseret First Duel Rivalry Cup will be held Thursday, July 3 at Thanksgiving Point Golf Club. The event, presented by Ken Garff, pits University of Utah fans, coaches and alumni against their Brigham Young University counterparts. The designated team captains are Bruce Summerhays (Utah) and Billy Casper (BYU). Others expected to compete include Robbie Bosco, Tom Holmoe, Dave Rose, Jim Boylen, and Dr. Chris Hill.
The morning shotgun will feature the celebrities and coaches playing head-to-head and the afternoon flight will feature the fan face-off. Fans of both schools can impact the outcome of the Deseret Duel Rivalry golf tournament, while playing alongside coaches and former players in this two-person best ball match play format. Match winners score a point for their team and the team with the most overall points wins the Cup. The winning team's flag will fly above the clubhouse at Thanksgiving Point through the 2008 football season.
Information and registration is available at www.therivalrycup.com and the registration deadline is June 30. Each participant will receive the official team shirt and hat.
