SALT LAKE CITY - Lucas Moosman has been promoted to Director of Athletic-Academic Services at the University of Utah. Moosman, who has served as the associate director since 2008, will oversee a staff of three. He replaces JoAnn Hulbert-Eagan, who retired.
In his time as associate director, Moosman created and implemented a process to certify NCAA Progress Towards Degree and provided the athletic staff with weekly reports regarding the academic, tutorial, and NCAA eligibility of Utah's 350 student-athletes.
Prior to coming to Utah, Moosman was the academic advising coordinator at the University of California, where he managed the day-to-day operations of the academic advising unit and supervised five full-time academic advisors. While at Cal, he also doubled as an assistant football coach at Diablo Valley Community College.
As an undergraduate, Moosman played linebacker for the University of Redlands, where he earned a bachelor's degree in liberal studies, with a concentration in psychology, in 2000. He received a master's degree in education, athletes, and academic achievement from Cal (2002).
