LOGAN, UTAH - The University of Utah women's track and field team competed in the Utah State University Wilson Motor Invitational on Saturday. Lucy Yates and Chelsea Shapard had top finishes in the 800-meter run and Lauren Endersen won outright in the 3,000-meter run. The throwers had another good showing over the weekend with Josefin Berg competing in her first meet of the season.
"We competed fairly well today and the throwers and distance runners did well," said head coach Kyle Kepler. "We have a lot of work to do, but I am proud of our freshmen that competed. This was the first meet, so there are things to clean up as we learn from our work and efforts we had today."
In the 800-meter run, Yates won outright in her first collegiate race with a time of 2:15.67 with Shapard, a senior, coming in close second with a time of 2:15.85.
