PROVO, Utah - The University of Utah men's golf team completed the first two rounds of the 2009 PING Cougar Classic at the Riverside Country Club in Provo Friday. The Utes shot a combined two round total of 577 (291, 286), at one-over-par.
Leading the Utah tied in ninth-place Chase Hite shot a score of 142 (71, 71), two-under-par.
Tied in 26th-place Derek Adams ended the day with a score of 146 (74, 72), two-over-par.
Chance Cota and Kaleb Mahanes are currently tied for 34th-place at three-over-par. Cota shot a score of 147 (74, 73), and Mahanes shot a two round total of 147 (77, 70), his second round gave the Utes their lowest round of the Classic.
Freshman Joe Webber rounds out the Utah lineup with a score of 151 (72, 79), seven-over-par tying for 55th-place.
BYU leads the field in the team standings with a score of 559 (283, 276), at 17-under-par. Matt McArthur of Southern Utah is in first place in the individual standings with a score of 133 (67, 66), at 11-under-par.
The final 18 holes will be played tomorrow morning beginning at 8 a.m.
