PROVO, Utah - The University of Utah men's golf team completed the final day of the 2009 PING Cougar Classic held at the Riverside Country Club in Provo Saturday. The Utes remained in seventh place after the second day with a score of 872 (291, 286, 295), at eight-over-par.
Chase Hite lead the Utes with a 13th-place finish, shooting a score of 213 (71, 71, 71) at three-under-par.
Senior Chance Cota ended the third round with a score of 73 shooting a total score of 220, at four-over-par tying for 31st place.
At seven-over-par, Kaleb Mahanes had a three round total of 223 (77, 70, 76), tying for 43rd place.
Derek Adams shot a score of 224 (74, 72, 78), at eight-over-par tying for 43rd place. Joe Webber tied in 58th place with a score of 226 (72, 79, 75), at 10-over-par.
BYU took first place in the team standings with a score of 842, at 22-under-par. Matt McArthur of Southern Utah finished in first place in the team standings with a score of 205, 11-under-par.
The Utes will travel to Tucson, Ariz., for the 2009 Mountain West Conference Championships May 1-2.
