SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - The University of Utah men's golf team finished in 17th-place at the seventh annual University of Wyoming Cowboy Classic. The Utes had a three round total of 880 (306, 284, 290), at 40-over-par.
Senior Chance Cota remained the leader for the Utes ending the third round tied in 19th-place with a score of 212 (74, 71, 67), at two-over-par. The third round score of 67 for Cota was the lowest round earned by the team throughout the tournament.
At nine-over-par, Chase Hite shot a score of 219 (78, 69, 72), finishing in a tie with teammate Derek Adams (72, 73, 74), for a 58th-place finish.
Joe Webber tied in 86th-place shooting a third round of 73 for a total combined score of 225 (77, 75, 73), at 15-over-par. Five strokes behind Webber, Jeff Kitches finished with a score of 230 (82, 71, 77).
Mike Branca completes the Utes' lineup with a score of 238 (83, 77, 78), at 28-over-par.
UC Davis finished in first place in the team standings having now won three consecutive Cowboy Classic events since 2007. They shot a tournament record this year with a score of 825, at 15-under-par.
Austin Graham of UC Davis took first place in the individual standings with a score of 204, at six-under-par.
Up next the Utah golf team will be traveling to Provo, Utah for the BYU Cougar Classic April 24-25.
