SALT LAKE CITY -
* Ute center Zane Taylor was a featured guest columnist in today's Wall Street Journal. Check out Zane's Column.
* In the final "two-a-day," the Utes held a brief practice this morning and will hit the field again tonight for another short session.
* Stars of the morning practice included Matt Asiata and Zane Beadles on offense.
* Joe Dale returned to action after taking a few days off to rest a sore shoulder. He did not participate in contact drills but expects to have the green light to tackle starting Monday.
* The kickers stuck around and practiced field goals after the rest of the team had cleared out of the stadium. Earlier, "King Louie" had them aiming for the uprights from outside the east sideline.
* Just one day remains in camp. Utah will finish with a closed scrimmage Saturday. The scrimmage will consist of around 80 plays.
* QBs Jordan Wynn and Terrance Cain will split reps equally with the first string in the scrimmage. They will be the only quarterbacks to take reps.
* As was the case in the first two scrimmages, backups will comprise most of the "No. 1" defense. Starters who will get a day off include all three linebackers (Stevenson Sylvester, Mike Wright, Kepa Gaison), both safeties (Robert Johnson, Joe Dale) and injured end Koa Misi (back). For the offense, OT Zane Beadles, RB Matt Asiata and WR David Reed will sit out of the scrimmage.
