ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The Utes completed the third and final round of the Tucker Intercollegiate this afternoon and held on to their 11th-place finish with a score of 909 (304-300-305). Mike Branca led the Utes, climbing from 23rd after yesterday's rounds to a 12th-place finish after today's final round.
Branca led the Utes with a top-20 finish, 12th-place, after posting a four-over-par score of 220 (74-74-72).
Ben Bankhead finished with a 12-over-par score of 228 (75-73-80) to tie for 47th. Not far behind was senior Derek Adams, who tied for 50th with a final score of 230 (78-74-78), 14-over-par. Chase Hite competed as an individual and tied for 59th with a three-round score of 232 (80-76-76). Other Ute finishers were Jeff Kitches (69th, 237) and Cody Hughes (tied for 75th at 240).
The tournament's top team finisher was San Diego State with a 10-over-par score of 874.
The Utes return home for next week's Purple and Red Invitational, held on the 6,652-yard Valley View Golf Course in Layton, Utah.
