LONG BEACH, Calif. -- The University of Utah women's swimming and diving team's competition results at the Arena Invitational on Nov. 18-20 were individually compared to San Diego State's results for a conference dual meet. The 23rd-ranked Aztecs defeated the Utes by a score of 153 to 127.
"San Diego State is a tough team to beat and I'm very impressed with their program," said head Coach Greg Winslow. "I was impressed with how our girls fought. This was a good measuring stick for our conference meet."
The Utes won six of the 16 women's events against SDSU, including the 100 fly, 200 breast, 500 free, 200 IM, the 400 free relay, and the 3-meter dive.
Traycie Swartz posted a time of 56.85 in the 100 back, which is the second-fastest time ever by a Ute woman in that event.
Samantha Zuch finished in first in the 500 free (5:05.23). Jana Willsey and Kayla Buck placed second and third place in that same event with respective times of 5:08.36 and 5:11.44.
