Fans can get their first look at this year's Ute gymnastics team at the annual Red Rocks Preview, Friday, Dec. 10 at 7 p.m. in the Huntsman Center. Admittance and parking are free and the doors open at 5:30 p.m. for fans to watch warm-ups.
Seating is on a first come, first serve basis and the first 2,500 spectators will receive a set of 2011 Utah gymnastics trading cards. There will be a pre-meet "Kids' Zone" with balloon animals, face painting, "fan-toos" and poster making. After the meet, the Ute gymnasts will stick around and sign free team posters.
Friday's intra-squad meet will mark the debut for seven Ute freshmen. Even with just six gymnasts returning from last year's NCAA Super Six squad, Utah was picked to finish fifth in the annual preseason coaches' poll. Utah's regular season opens on Jan. 7 in the Huntsman Center vs. defending NCAA Champion UCLA.
