Utes Hit the Road for Three Matches
SALT LAKE CITY- The University of Utah women's tennis team (11-6, 3-0) jumped 10 spots to No. 39 in the latest Campbell/ITA College Tennis Rankings, released Tuesday, April 6. This is the highest late-season ranking achieved by the Utes in nearly two decades.
"It is nice to be in the top 40," said head coach Mat Iandolo. "Hopefully we can move into the top 30 before the season ends."
The Utes have been ranked in the top 50 since March 2, after upsetting 22nd-ranked DePaul and 50th-ranked Arizona in the same weekend.
Last week at home Utah upset 29th-ranked UNLV, 4-3, in Mountain West Conference play.
The Utes are 9-0 at home this season and 3-0 in conference play. They face Air Force, Colorado State and Wyoming on the road this weekend.
Utah is one of three ranked MWC teams. UNLV fell six spots to No. 35 and TCU moved into the rankings at No. 73.
