ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The University of Utah golf team improved to a final 10th-place finish from Friday's 12th place at the William H. Tucker Invitational Saturday at the University of New Mexico Championship Course. The Utes pulled together a team score of 907 (304-301-302), while sophomore Gentry Hicks continued to lead the way in the individual standings.
Hicks swung a score of 223 (75-74-74) to tie for 24th, while freshman Brandon Kida tied for 41 st with a mark of 227 (76-74-77). Sophomore Daniel Engle was not far behind, tying for 49th after posting a score of 228 (77-77-74). Freshman Jack Maerki swung a mark of 229 (76-76-77) to tie for 55th, while junior Joe Webber rounded out the Ute roster, tying for 71st with a score of 234 (77-79-78).
The Utes next return to action in Fairfax, Calif., for the Alister MacKenzie Invitational, Oct. 17-18.
