First and Second Round Results
ERIE, Colo. - The University of Utah golf team kicked off its first tournament of the season Monday at the second annual Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational, held at the Colorado National Golf Club. After posting a first-round score of 302, the Utes improved to a second-round score of 297. Sophomore Daniel Engle led the Utes after tying for 37th in the individual standings with a mark of 147 (75-72).Sophomore Ben Bankhead was next to finish on the Ute roster, swinging a 149 (74-75) to tie for 48th.
Freshmen Myles Sullivan and Brandon Kida made their collegiate debuts. Sullivan tied for 65th with a mark of 152 (75-77), while Kida placed 72nd with a score of 154 (81-73). Junior Joe Webber tied for 73rd after posting a mark of 155 (78-77).
The Utes return to action Tuesday at the Colorado National Golf Club for the final round of the Simpson Invitational. Play will begin with a staggered shotgun start at 8 a.m.
