SALT LAKE CITY - Utah Women's Swimming and Diving welcomes reigning NCAA champion California to Ute Natatorium Saturday for its first home meet of the season, beginning at 12 p.m.
The Ute women hold a 2-2 record this season and are 1-2 against Pac-12 Conference competition. They grabbed their first win of the season on Oct. 12 In Los Angeles against Oregon State.
Last Time Out
On Oct.13, the Utes were bested by USC 165-116 at McDonald's Swim Stadium in Los Angeles.
Ellis Walters brought home the Utes' only win of the day, topping the 3-meter dive with 281.85 points.
Petra Soininen and Traycie Swartz both earned third-place titles respectively in the 100 fly (57.00) and the 100 back (56.90).
Treasa Ring earned fourth in the 100 fly (58.70), as Samantha Zuch did the same in the 500 free (5:03.82) and the 200 free (1:54.53).
Scouting the Competition
Cal enters the season as the two-time defending Pac-12 Champions as well as the reigning national champions.
On Oct. 12-13, the Golden Bears topped their last meet against Fresno State and San Jose State, scoring 505.5 points as a team. They won 18 of 20 events over the two-day competition.
Next Time Out
Both the men's and women's squads will face the UNLV Rebels in Las Vegas on Nov. 10 at 2 p.m. , at Buchanan Natatorium.
